We are back in Las Vegas, this time at Interop ITX 2017, the rejuvenated version of Interop. As I have written in the past, Interop has a long history back to the mid-1980’s and has reinvented itself many times. Interop ITX 2017 is the newest edition, with only paid attendees and no more free passes to the expo floor. UBM, the owner of Interop, intends to increase the quality of attendees, sessions and leads for exhibitors and sponsors.
Fiber Mountain is sponsoring an Interop ITX Theater presentation on Wednesday 5/17 at 1:20 PM by M.H. Raza, Fiber Mountain CEO, entitled,“Automating the Physical Layer”.
The past 3 events that we have participated in we have asked booth visitors to answer one survey question per day. I write a blog post on the responses we receive and share this with our readers. What is unique about our survey question is that we ask individuals for their personal perspective rather than a corporate party line.
Our first question on opening night was “What does Digital Transformation (DX) mean to YOU? “ We expected different answers and we were not disappointed. Each response was unique and in some cases clever and straightforward.
Here are highlights of our responses:
- DX means disruptive technology is penetrating our network
- DX means everything is becoming virtual
- DX means I am not doing anything analog anymore
- DX means we connect all disparate technologies we already have and are acquiring
- DX is the Fiber Management solution
As you can see, DX is evolving in its reality and realization by people involved and at this point means different things to different people. If you have any suggestions, ideas, tips and tricks, or comments please share with our readers. Look for tomorrow responses in my next blog post!
