If you read the last three posts, you know the Fiber Mountain team had a great time at ITEXPO last week. While I hope you enjoyed the change of pace, it’s time now for another news round-up!
There were a lot of great articles in our social media feed over the past week, but it was the headline about L’Oréal that caught my imagination and wouldn’t let go. Read on for another addition to the “digital transformation I never would have expected” list.
Diginomica | Suart Lauchlan provides the newest addition to my list of industries I didn’t expect to see leading the digital transformation charge. L’Oréal’s dedication to ecommerce and to promoting their vision of “social beauty.” Which shows beautifully how having an intense customer focus can guide effective digital transformation choices (regardless of industry).
Gigaom | Frank J. Ohlhorst discusses the challenges of combining mobile convenience with HIPAA compliance. The key is controlling access to information – making it convenient for those who are authorized to retrieve information while making it nigh impossible for those who are not authorized. The author discusses a new solution which makes use of “software-defined” controls that apply policies to the device an app is hosted on. Controls can be based on user, application, or other factors like location.
Sys-Con Media | Charles Araujo of Intellyx shares an inspiring view of digital transformation. After making the point that it “is a process, not a destination,” he discusses how important it is to change your definition of “success” and provides a few tips on how to go about doing just that.
Thanks for reading, and have a great weekend!
